About Dr. Baiyee

My name is Cyril Mbeng Ayuk Takem Baiyee, born in Cameroon, lived in Lagos, Nigeria as a kid and our family immigrated to Europe and the USA. My Grandmother was my primary caregiver as my mother sought a better life for us overseas. Our family immigrated to Nigeria and lived there for several years then to the USA seeking a better life. Most of my personal life experiences with healthcare in low-income countries motivated me to seek a career in medicine and biomedical engineering.  Moreover, experiencing firsthand how poor structural healthcare impacts the quality and longevity of human life motivated me to seek a career in medicine. My short term goals at CCS is to inspire the students to seek careers in higher education especially in Science Technology Engineering and MathematicsSTEM). My long-term goals have been to lessen the burden of suffering in the community and engage the community through the lens of a comprehensive healthcare system, building more trust, and investing in biomedical devices while making them available in low-income communities. Furthermore, I have a musical soul, I love social dancing, especially salsa, bachata, merengue, afrobeats and ballroom dancing. In addition, I like to collect artifacts when I travel, I love watching anime (naruto is my favorite ). I love fashion and design. I get to express my “artsy” spirit. I love to shop when I travel; finding unique items especially in flee markets. Additionally I love to play sports, I play intramural soccer, ski and basketball. I hope to get to know everyone at CCS.
